The Polar Express (2004) ✨-I wasn’t really considering this to be a Sam’s Choice but judging by fact I watch it every Christmas without hesitation and have recently sat down to watch it, having experienced all the goosebumps I had as a child all over again, I guess The Polar Express does qualify as a personal favourite! I’ve been quite a fan of this film since I first saw it in the cinema. Ps3 game save editor. It’s actually one of the films I always try to watch closer to the 25th because I do believe it feels more Christmasy than some of my other festive favourites.

The Polar Express does come under that banner of when Hollywood was experimenting with those animated realism cgi films, some I like more than others, I personally enjoy Beowulf (also directed by Zemekis!) Please don’t let that put you off though! I’d thought I’d just throw that in earlier on in the review because some people are actually creeped out by the whole look those films went for. The Polar Express is thankfully MORE than just a showcase of a new flashy art form.
I’ve never felt the film was crafted around the cgi I actually always felt the experience was only enhanced by the cgi! It’s the effects that give the memorable kick to the film! I like a lot of Zemekis’ work, I love Forrest Gump and Back to the Future, he’s a director that I feel with every project he takes aboard he’ll always try his hardest to make it enjoyable and with The Polar Express you can definitely sense he was having fun with the freedom of this animation!
