Meindl Mountain Crack Pro
My (tatty)boots need replacing and as I mostly walk October toMay, I am considering a boot suitable for year-round use, (including cramponswhen necessary). I mostly walk in Scotland, Lakes & Wales.Any suggestions?I have thought of getting the Meindl mountain crack, as these are waterproof.I also like the Scarpa Manta and there was another boot recommended in thesupplement with this months trail mag (forgot the name though!).Does anyone own a pair of either of these boots? If so would you recommendthem and/or what other boots would you suggest?Any suggestions to help with this major expense (know any good Sales?!), wouldbe very helpful and greatly appreciated.Oh and does anybody know when the Yha shops are having their annual 'discountday' for members?many thanks,Mark.E-mail:- Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion -Now offering spam-free web-based newsreadingSurfer07.04.98 0:00. Theywill take step-in crampons, are very warm and waterproof and often weighless than leather equivalents. Also the inner booties can be worn inhuts. They are a comparable price. Also the fit is a bit less crucialthan with leather boots (due to the foam inner bootie) and can easily beadjusted if necessary by ski shops and the like.-Surfer!Hopeful anti-spam: alter double 'w' to single 'w' to view site & send Email.Altberg07.04.98 0:00. I went out in January to buy a pair of plastics or Salomons, and cameback from the shop with a pair of (leather) Meindl supercracks at theremarkable sale price of £120.I wore them all week in Feb on mixed rock and snow around and on theBen and they were excellent. I've never worn plastics, and I'm a bitwary of them - I've known two people get bad lower shin abrasioninjuries from them, enough to stop them walking. Possibly somethingto do with the fit if you've got thin ankles!?Tony T-replace the DOT for email addressTony T07.04.98 0:00.
